Learn To Play Violin

In the Mangelson Suzuki Studio, our goal is to help children develop beautiful hearts through their study of music. We want every child to know they are valued and can do hard things. We guide each child as they develop the life skills and musical abilites necessary to become beautiful musicians and people.

The Suzuki method is what helps us accomplish these goals. After hearing students from the Talent Education Research Institute (the birthplace of the Suzuki method), Pablo Casals was so moved he said, “Perhaps it is music that will save the world”. As we work with our students on personal and musical skills, we hope to be a part of that dream, to save the world one heart and one instrument at a time.

About Us

The Mangelson Suzuki Studio offers both private and group lessons. Private lessons focus on technique, posture, learning repertoire, and playing with beautiful tone and musicianship. Group lessons focus on learning to play musically with a group, developing leadership skills, further refinement of techniques and musicality, note reading, and enjoying playing fun music with peers.

My daughter started taking violin lessons with TawnaLyn Mangelson a little over a year ago. From our first lesson, I could tell she was going to be a great fit when I saw how kind, warm, and engaging she was. Since then I’ve learned she’s also an incredible violinist and teacher/motivator. My daughter works so hard to please her and loves to show her all her pieces each week. She is great at praising all her hard work and still giving her feedback that helps her play even more beautifully. As an adult I wanted to start taking violin lessons, although I was hesitant and a bit self-conscious. But violin lessons from TawnaLyn have been so terrific! Her studio is well established and she has quite the vision for what she wants her students to accomplish, no matter what age they are.
